  • Download the RAPS 16.07fx4e software with demo data with the following buttons. If you want to update or patch an older version of RAPS then scroll down to the Latest RAPS1607fx4g_Patch.exe /Upgrade box found at bottom of this Window. 

  • Remember to SAVE and not to RUN when asked after clicking onto the download button.

  • Once downloaded double click onto the RAPS_setup….exe to install the RAPS system. If not sure how to install then refer to the Installation Notes button found to the left (within navigation buttons).

Troubleshooting and Support Documentation 

Troubleshooting and supporting RAPS document. The target audiences for this document are the Users that would like to keep the RAPS system running at maximum uptime without having to call for support. This is possible when management or senior staff have a moderate understanding of computer technology (e.g. how Windows Explorer works) and the confidence to handle these problems efficiently and quickly. This document will also assist the field engineers that support your computer hardware and networks guiding the engineer in restoring and reconfiguring a RAPS system whose computer hardware has been replaced or repaired. It is highly recommend that management and senior staff at RAPS installations make an effort to read this document for it has been compiled in their best interest:

1.  The FINES terminology has been changed to Extra Day Rental charge (xDay). Customers interpreted the FINE terminology in a bad connotation.

2. The BLACK LISTED terminology has been changed to Blocked in this way it is not confusing to staff and customers and has a less negative perception.

3. Have also updated all of the online documentation for the above.

4. The Rental Analysis display now shows the purchase date. Alleviating the need to activate a different window to find this information.

5. Can now turn off browser display of units, which has been pointed out to be a security risk associated to fraudulent activity. Use security flag 37 to turn off  this display …set it to any number other than 4.

6.  Newer graphical dashboard (found under reports)...Displays actual rental items mix and rental turns per genre as well as percentages. Also added is a graphical representation of failed returns and canceled transactions over the last 60 days. Excellent visual aid on how catalogue mix is performing and identifying transaction anomalies. In addition we have also added a 5 five year monthly chart showing monetary turn-over during the last 5 year period.  Plus now added a five year monthly chart on the number of rentals at the stores counter as well as through the Internet. Make sure your security levels are set high for the statistical report sector: security flag 016 should be set to 4.

7.   Added more flexibility as to how rental specials are fined. a) fine as per standard price code fine b) fine as per rental rate defined in special c) fine as per rental rate defined in special divided by the number of keep days defined in special. refer security levels flag number 090
